K rizia Lopez was born in Lima, Peru but has since lived all over the world.

She has been involved in anything and everything involving art and design since she was in kindergarten. Over the years, she developed a specific area of interest: Depicting people. Krizia discovered her love for portraits in her freshman year of high school, when she began making quick sketches of her family and friends. Working around her busy class schedule, she began studying oil painting techniques in her free time under the tutelage of Russel Harris and Christine Holloway, teachers at the Latin School of Chicago. These independent studies focused specifically on the techniques and styles of portraiture.

Currently, she lives in New York City, where she is a student at Columbia University. She continues to pursue art both as a hobby and a passion.

"My love of portraiture reflects that of my favorite artist, Rembrandt Van Rijn. I admire his style not only because of his incredible talent and portrayal of light, but also because of the psychology which pervades his paintings: the way in which he is able to capture the complexity and depth of a human's essence on a flat canvas."
